The following materials are provided as reference to help you better understand the census. In addition to English and French, each of them has been produced in 25 languages, including 13 Indigenous languages and dialects.

We encourage you to share this information with your friends, family, colleagues and clients.

Census questions and reasons why they are asked

The documents provided below include translations of the questions that appear on the official census questionnaire and the reasons why the questions are asked.

Please note that the census questions were translated for reference purposes only. The census questionnaire must be completed online, by phone, or on paper, in English or in French.
