Figure 2.4K provides an overview of the Indo‑Iranian languages component. The Indo‑Iranian languages are broken into three major branches, which include: Indo‑Aryan languages, Iranian languages and Indo‑Iranian languages not included elsewhere. Indo‑Iranian languages not included elsewhere is not broken down further.

Indo‑Aryan languages include: Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Bishnupuriya, Chakma, Dogri, Fiji Hindi, Garhwali, Gujarati, Haryanvi, Hindi, Hindko, Kacchi, Kashmiri, Khowar, Konkani, Maithili, Marathi, Marwari, Memoni , Nepali, Oadki, Odia, Oriya not otherwise specified, Pahari, Pahari‑Potwari, Pashai, Punjabi (Panjabi), Rajasthani, Rohingya, Romani, Saraiki, Saurashtra, Sindhi, Sinhala (Sinhalese), Sylheti, Urdu.

Iranian languages include: Baluchi, Gilaki, Hazaragi, Kurdish, Lari, Parsi, Pashto, Shughni, Tajik, Dari, Iranian Persian and Persian (Farsi) not otherwise specified.
