- In 2016, 779,155 children aged 0 to 14 and 500,220 persons aged 65 and over were enumerated in Alberta, representing respectively 19.2% and 12.3% of the total population.
- The working age population (15 to 64) represented 68.5% of the total population. In comparison, for Canada the proportions of children, of seniors and in age of working were 16.6%, 16.9% and 66.5% in 2016.
